چکیده

The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of aged plates Inconel 600 welded to in the as-received condition was studied using slow strain rate test (SSRT) two sodium containing electrolytes at 25 and 80 °C. plate used simulate damage by operation service. Electrochemical noise (EN) monitor SCC. were gas metal arc (GMAW) employing ERNiCrMo-3 ER310 filler wires along with 95% Ar + 3% N2 2% O2 97% as shielding gas, respectively. microstructure joints characterized optical scanning electron microscopy. results SCC revealed that when thiosulfate used, loss plasticity higher NiCrMo-3 joint around a 20 percent decrease. Conversely, 310 welds, hydroxide, which diminished 12 percent. A few secondary microcracks observed transversal section specimens both welds. EN showed an increase potential current sample reached tensile strength then decreased neck formed; these changes indicate some events occurred during SSRT. data types corrosion: general for mixed environments. polarization also employed understand mechanism

Slow Strain Rate Testing to Evaluate the Susceptibility of Welded Low Alloy Steel to Environmentally Assisted Cracking

Libya is an important oil country particularly to European countries. The combustion products of fossil fuels are causing great damage through pollution, acid rains and the greenhouse effect. Hydrogen can be stored in three different ways, as a gas, as liquid, as a material and metal hydrides. Low alloy steels have been widely used in different scale welded structures. The mechanical properties...

Acoustic Emission during Stress Corrosion Cracking Test

AE monitoring from various types of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) has been conducted for the past 15 years in our laboratory. This paper discusses AE results of active-path dissolution-type SCC of austenitic stainless steel in chloride solution and fused salt, fluoride and polythionic acid solutions, brass in ammonia (Mattosson's solution), and carbon steels in nitrite solution. Transgranular...

ELECTROCHEMICAL NOISE ANALYSIS OF 70-30 BRASS DURING STRESS CORROSION CRACKING TEST IN MATTSON S SOLUTION

An investigation of the electrochemical noise generation during Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) of 70-30 Brass in Mattson's solution was conducted. The fluctuations of potential and current were monitored. The relationship between potential and current fluctuations has been evaluated in time domain and the obtained data has been analyzed in the frequency domain using Power Spectral Density (PSD...
